  • Approximately 1 in 5 female victims and 1 in 20 male victims need medical care.
  • Female victims sustain injuries 3x more often than male victims.
  • $5.6 billion was spent on medical care for the more than 2.5 million injuries due to interpersonal and self-directed violence

The Be A Butterfly Chrysalis Medical Programs, at its essence, is to empower our survivors through the emberterment of their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Violence in any form, be it physical or emotional, can leave lasting scars that may or may not be seen by our survivors’ peers. Our goal for our programs is to bolster our survivors and their families so that they may emerge from their cocoons and continue to live more fulfilling lives.
